The Vision of a Tomorrow, Built with the Hard Work of Today

 Sameer Malhotra

The beginning of a new financial year not only marks the set up of future plans but also calls for an analysis of the actions in past. Another year of hard work and perseverance has faded into a new FY 2014-15 at Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL), which carries the impression of success in its true sense. While several milestones came across our journey in the last fiscal, the year marked the growth of SAMIL from every dimension. No stone was left unturned in order to enhance our presence throughout the nation. With several Automall launches, we now count more than 30 for our footprints across India. As we inaugurated our Automalls across the major cities of country, like Jharsuguda, Bilaspur, Hapur, Bhopal, Faridabad, Udaipur, Hubli, Amritsar, Bangalore, Raipur and Ananatapur, every location marked the presence of esteemed names from automobile industry. The inception of each Automall was aimed at enhancing our reach in order to facilitate the trade of pre-owned vehicles and equipment on our structured and transparent bidding platforms.

At SAMIL, customers are categorised under the living assets of our business. We make best possible efforts in order to build a strong relation with them. In order to enhance the benefits of our customers’ association, we introduced Driving Your Trust Programme in the last fiscal. This initiative was solely aimed at making people’s participation in our bidding events completely exciting. In fact, every Automall Inauguration post its launch witnessed the distribution of various Privileged Bidder Cards, including Star Bidder Cards, Premium Bidder Cards and Platinum Bidder Cards, to our esteemed customers.

If we take a look at the pre-owned segment of automobile industry, a demand for their disposal is also screamed from banks, NBFCs, manufacturers and dealers. While catering to that demand through our well-structured and transparent bidding platforms, the FY 2013-2014 also wrote some incredible stories of our tie-ups with some esteemed names in the industry, namely SBI, TATA Motors and John Deere. Now, we facilitate the disposal of their pre-owned vehicles and equipment through our all the bidding platforms.

At SAMIL, our motto goes beyond revenue in order to work for the benefit of the society. While closely working in association with Shriram Trust, we realised several dreams of reading and writing through our Education Scholarship Programme. Every remarkable day at SAMIL in the last fiscal was never complete without the distribution of cheques under the programme. That’s how; we make an effort towards enlightening the country’s tomorrow.

While various developments were taking place within the premises of SAMIL, the Indian automobile industry was also witnessing the introduction of some valuable trends. The major trend was growth of pre-owned cars sale over new ones in the last year. This aspect not only affected the industry but also showcased a positive aspect for our operations.

As we walk ahead in the FY 2014-2015, the vision and mission are absolutely clear about the direction of our footsteps. The main objective will be to enhance the arena of our presence in India with the set up of 60 Automalls. I know that the road ahead is challenging but I believe that success remains incomplete if does not get acquainted with challenges.
